Swiss Couple Gang Raped in India

The Swiss woman is being escorted by police
A Swiss couple travelling on a three month bike excursion in India were gang raped while camping in the woods near Madhya Pradesh. Police officials in the area are placing blame on the couple for travelling through the area without telling them. The couple, in their thirties, were camping when a group of poor farmers from the town attacked them. The group took the man, beat him, and tied him to a tree while multiple men raped his wife. In addition to the rape, the couple was robbed of their cellphone, laptop, and money.

All three news sites chose to focus on the incident and the fact that the Indian government could care less about what happened. They reported that the government cares more about the tourism industry taking a hit than the tourists that visit the country. The way the articles are written puts India's government in a bad light for not protecting the people that live there (the rape case from December is still causing problems) and those that choose to visit the country which is full of Hindu and Buddhist temples and other sites of importance.

Political News - Iran Sanctions Not Working

Gen. James Mattis of Central Command made the statement that the Obama Administration's sanctions and diplomatic efforts to stop Iran from gaining nuclear capabilities is not working. He added that Tehran is enriching uranium for purposes other than peace; Tehran, he continued, has a history of deceit and denial, as well. Being questioned be Senators, Mattis commented that in his own personal opinion that other efforts need to be made just in case. Asked by Senator Graham if the only other way was to bring them "to their knees", Mattis responded with a "yes".

All three news sites included commentaries from both Mattis and US Senators on the current conditions of the sanctions and alternative measures. All three were written in a similar style which is odd becasue the news groups are completely different.
