Bird Flu Outbreak in China

Who: The state-run Xinhua news agency in China and WHO

What:They are reporting multiple cases of avian bird flu and a few deaths. Also they are enacting bans on trading poultry and live birds, and in Shanghai, there is a mass killing going on of pigeons.

Where: In the Shanghai Region

When: This week

Why: To keep the strain of the flu from spreading

How: By performing a mass execution of pigeons and putting a stop to selling birds.

Connection to Heritage: Many students got flu shots last winter and quite a few students got swine flu a few years ago.
